On the Road Again – Arizona Edition

Sitting at my grandma’s computer in Arizona.

Hello friends! I just got back from a week long trip to see my grandparents in Arizona. It’s a 6.5 hour drive, but I don’t mind. I love to curl up in Mommy or Daddy’s lap and snooze until we get to our destination. Ooh, and I love watching the big rig trucks go past us. They make such interesting sounds!

Everyone was complaining about it being so hot in Arizona, but I was in kitty heaven! 106 is perfect for a desert kitty like me. 🙂

Whenever I get to go to Arizona I get to see all kinda of birds, lizards, butterflies, moths and I even got a glimpse of a snake this trip! (All behind a big glass door, of course!) This time I even got to pounce on a praying mantis. Momma was no fun because she stopped me and took it outside. 🙁 Still, it was different from anything I’d ever seen and wow, it fought back!

Now that I’m back in New Mexico, I get to settle into my regular routine. Vacations are fun, but so is finding comfort in your own home. Much love to everyone and I hope you are staying cool (or hot) depending on what makes you happy!

Love, Ivan =^..^=

Social Kitty

Aside from working very hard on content for my website, ivanthecat.com, I also have a couple other places you can find me. You can find regular posts on my Facebook page and also on Instagram. (You can find a link to my Instagram page on the menu here on my website. It’s called “Insta-Ivan”) I’ll be posting different things in different places to keep things interesting.

I love being a connected kitty, and would love to see you on the other social channels! See you there! =^..^= Ivan

Ivan the Cat

A Desert Cat

I have a secret. I LOVE going out into the super warm garage during the summer. Momma and Daddy have the air conditioner cranked up, and I’m not interested. I sit at the door, put my cute face on and meow like mad until I’m allowed out. They check on me every 20 minutes, but 9 times out of 10, I’m just lounging on top of one of the cars in totally bliss.

Did you know that there are a type of cat called sand cats? The taxonomic name is felis margarita. (I wonder if they like to lap up a cold margarita after a long day of desert exploration?) They are very tolerant of hot and cold temperatures. I was surprised to find out that they don’t have very sharp claws because of the lack of places to sharpen them in the desert!

Today when I go outside, I’ll pretend to be sitting in the Sahara like my sand cat cousins. – Ivan =^..^=
